Overview

The Welding Technician will serve the Water Heater Division in Montgomery, AL, responsible for all welding functions in the Boiler Department, including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding, while working with Robotics. The role focuses on optimizing welding processes, planning improvements, and maximizing company profits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Parameter Sheets on all Welding applications.
• Troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of Welding Equipment.
• Monitor all welding processes including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding.
• Monitor leak rates in Commercial and Residential departments.
• Plan for improvements for maximization of company profitability.
• Maintain a safe workplace environment and adhere to all safety requirements including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Monitor welding processes and materials to detect and resolve future problems.
• Ensure weld reliability and integrity throughout all welding processes.
• Establish a working relationship with both direct and indirect support departments, including Maintenance, Supervisors, and Superintendents.
• Provide daily reports to Welding Engineer.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum of five years welding process experience.
• Knowledge and experience of GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding.
• Knowledge and experience pertaining to Robotic Welders and their functions.
