Overview

The Machinist 1 position involves performing machine setups on various types of lathes and mills, maintaining a clean work environment, and adhering to safety regulations. Candidates should have experience with manual and CNC machines, as well as the ability to read blueprints and perform preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all engineering instructions and departmental procedures.
• Perform machine setups on manual lathes, manual mills, CNC lathes, CNC mills, and Waterjet machines.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for all processes and programs.
• Verify gage calibration and use standard measuring tools.
• Familiarity with CNC programming/languages and knowledge of creating and editing programs.
• Assist other departments as necessary with management approval.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years’ experience working with Manual and/or CNC machines.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Math skills and ability to use handheld measuring tools.
