Overview
The Energy Tech Helper, Energy Tech 1, and Energy Tech 2 positions involve providing assistance in construction, maintenance, and service-related work in the electrical field. These roles require physical activity and adherence to safety standards while operating equipment and performing various tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assists Energy Technicians in building and maintaining electrical facilities
- Performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Prepares equipment and material for system use
- Operates heavy and light equipment
- Performs meter reading
- Trims trees
- Observes safety rules for electrical employees
- Constructs new overhead lines
- Constructs new underground lines
- Restores service and troubleshoot
- Sets up service and maintain lines and apparatus
- Re-conducts or converts existing lines
- Ensures safe work conditions
- Operates and maintains equipment
- Trains personnel, plans jobs, and keeps records
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- One to two years of general construction experience preferred for Energy Tech Helper
- Three months to one year of related experience for Energy Tech 1
- Ability to acquire a Commercial Driver's License
- Must possess a current, legally valid Driver's License for Energy Tech Helper
- Must possess a current, legally valid Commercial Driver's License for Energy Tech 1
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10s and 100s
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- Ability to perform physical activity such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects
