Overview

The Energy Tech Helper, Energy Tech 1, and Energy Tech 2 positions involve providing assistance in construction, maintenance, and service-related work in the electrical field. These roles require physical activity and adherence to safety standards while operating equipment and performing various tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Energy Technicians in building and maintaining electrical facilities
  • Performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Prepares equipment and material for system use
  • Operates heavy and light equipment
  • Performs meter reading
  • Trims trees
  • Observes safety rules for electrical employees
  • Constructs new overhead lines
  • Constructs new underground lines
  • Restores service and troubleshoot
  • Sets up service and maintain lines and apparatus
  • Re-conducts or converts existing lines
  • Ensures safe work conditions
  • Operates and maintains equipment
  • Trains personnel, plans jobs, and keeps records
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One to two years of general construction experience preferred for Energy Tech Helper
  • Three months to one year of related experience for Energy Tech 1
  • Ability to acquire a Commercial Driver's License
  • Must possess a current, legally valid Driver's License for Energy Tech Helper
  • Must possess a current, legally valid Commercial Driver's License for Energy Tech 1
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10s and 100s
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
  • Ability to perform physical activity such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects
