Overview
The CAD Drafter/Project Coordinator/Fabricator is responsible for creating fabrication drawings, generating CNC files, and collaborating with clients and the fabrication team to ensure projects are completed on time and meet design specifications. The role requires effective communication and problem-solving skills, particularly under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand blueprints and sketches.
- Create fabrication drawings from client designs.
- Work with clients on timelines, materials, and changes.
- Generate CNC files.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to get projects built and materials ordered.
- Ensure project timelines are realized and met.
- Adapt to design and fabrication changes under tight deadlines.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Vectorworks (Spotlight).
- 3+ years of drafting/design experience.
- 3+ years of wood fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of acrylic fabrication.
- High School or Equivalent education.
- CAD Trade School or Equivalent education is a plus.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks Spotlight, Sketchup, Illustrator, Photoshop, and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of design, fabrication, and architecture.
- Experience with power tools including table saw, chop saw, and routers.
- Mechanically inclined and a problem solver.
- Willingness to work long hours due to job-specific timelines.
- Strong communication skills.
