Overview
The Machining Department Lead for the 3rd Shift is responsible for overseeing CNC operations and improving production quality and efficiency. The role involves training staff, supervising daily operations, and maintaining production records. Responsibilities
- Work with machining staff to improve production quality and efficiency
- Oversee CNC setup, tooling, fixturing, gaging, programming, and machine operation
- Read and interpret part drawings and GD&T requirements
- Train CNC operators on proper processes and techniques
- Supervise CNC production employees during daily operations
- Maintain production records, quality paperwork, and tool inventory
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- A two‑year engineering‑related degree is preferred
- At least three years of experience working with CNC machines and mechanical tools
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and Mastercam is preferred
- Forklift operation experience is helpful
Compensation
- Wage: $25/hr + 3rd shift premium of 15% which would take the hourly rate to $28.75
