Overview

As a Sheet Metal Mechanic 1 at Schindler, you will play a vital role in enhancing urban life by operating and setting up equipment in the sheet metal department, ensuring quality and productivity while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities

• Proficiently operate all equipment upon which specific training has been completed.
• Set up all equipment in the sheet metal department.
• Set up equipment for others when called upon.
• Perform duties from details provided on engineering drawings and PDF files.
• Work without supervision while maintaining an acceptable level of quality and productivity.
• Properly use measuring tools common to the sheet metal department.
• Inspect all jobs before moving them to the next department.
• Maintain work area in a clean and safe professional condition.
• Follow company’s safety rules and regulations.
• Report all equipment, quality, and safety problems to the sheet metal foreman.
• Assist the working foreman.
• Knowledge of bend allowance.
• Read, receive instructions, and communicate in English.

Requirements

• High School Graduate.
• Knowledge of ELEC/MECH Engineering, drawing and BOM.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and routing.
• Skills in multiple task management and project management.
• Problem-solving skills or lean six sigma.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical/financial reports and legal documents.
• Mathematical skills including probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
