Overview

The Manufacturing Technician provides technical support in the development and production of military soft goods, including upholstery, cushions, and parachutes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of aircraft and military vehicle seating upholstery and cushions
• Train Production department leads in the operation of various industrial sewing machines
• Establish time standards
• Develop flat patterns and templates for soft goods
• Work with quality to resolve production issues and ensure customer satisfaction
• Read and interpret engineering drawings as they pertain to sewing
• Develop processes for cutting and bonding non-rigid polyurethane foams
• Program fabric cutters and sewing machines

Requirements

• 6+ years’ sewing experience
• Knowledge of military standards for sewing materials
• Experience in manufacturing using contact adhesives
• Skills in production line setup and line balancing for workflow processing
• Experience with laser cutting fabrics
• Familiarity with CNC fabric cutters
• Knowledge of nesting software for soft goods
