Overview
The Wind Turbine Technician will climb and service utility-scale wind turbines across an offshore array, performing various maintenance tasks and troubleshooting issues. The role involves both planned preventive maintenance and unplanned call-outs, requiring specific certifications and comfort working at heights.
Responsibilities
- Climb and service utility-scale wind turbines across an offshore array.
- Perform scheduled gearbox inspections.
- Conduct blade pitch calibration.
- Lubricate yaw drives.
- Maintain hydraulic brakes at height.
- Troubleshoot pitch and converter faults from the nacelle.
- Torque foundation bolts to specification.
- Replace worn slip rings and filters.
- Document every work order in the asset management system.
- Coordinate lifts and isolations with the control room before work begins.
Requirements
- GWO Working at Heights certification.
- GWO Sea Survival certification.
- Rope-access proficiency.
- Offshore medical clearance.
- Comfort working ninety meters above open water in changing weather.
