Overview
Trinity Industries is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer for their plant in Ferris, TX. This role involves developing advanced manufacturing solutions for rail car production and repair, focusing on innovation and automation in welding, assembly, and painting processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design, build, and implement manufacturing solutions.
- Utilize internal capabilities to develop and refine manufacturing processes.
- Work directly with welding equipment and cobots to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
- Support the launch of innovative automation and tooling projects.
- Troubleshoot and improve existing manufacturing processes.
- Participate in hands-on fabrication, welding, and machining tasks.
- Maintain a strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in welding, fabrication, or machining.
- Proficiency with welding equipment and automation tools.
- Ability to perform design activities using CAD systems such as AutoCAD Inventor.
- Experience with robots or cobots is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Willingness to work hands-on in a shop environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
- No college degree required; technical certifications or relevant training are valued.
