Job Description
Overview
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Overhaul Machinist III for the 2nd shift, responsible for machining parts to engineering specifications and ensuring quality. The role involves operating various machines and providing support across departments.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate any machine tool to perform operations within its capacity.
- Perform complete and independent setup of various machine tools using O.I.S., prints, and instructions.
- Make machine adjustments for efficient machining operations.
- Use precision measuring instruments to check work for conformance to specifications.
- Pre-set and/or sharpen cutting tools as required.
- Recognize improper machine functions and take corrective action.
- Replenish coolant, change filters, and lubricate machines as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience in the operation of manual machine tools.
- 2 years experience with CNC milling machines.
Additional Information
- This position requires working onsite five days a week.
