Overview
The Electrician position involves installing electrical packages as per customer requirements, working independently from electrical drawings, and maintaining a thorough understanding of the NEC code book. The ideal candidate will have experience with various electrical systems and components.
Responsibilities
- Actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.
- Identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.
- Support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy through self-inspection of work.
- Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
- Reassemble and test equipment after repairs.
- Splice wires and solder connections to fixtures, outlets, and equipment.
- Install new fuses, electrical cables, or power sources as required.
- Locate and repair circuit defects such as blown fuses or malfunctioning transistors.
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and relays in various systems.
- Refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications for problem-solving.
- Maintain equipment service records.
- Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures, outlet boxes, and fuse holders.
- Measure, cut, and install frameworks and conduit to support wiring.
- Lift production objects of up to 50lbs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safety.
Requirements
- Must be fully experienced in all types of electrical installations.
- NEC code book training is required.
- Education: Associate and/or bachelor’s degree a plus but not required.
- 5 years’ experience is required.
