Overview

Targa Resources’ Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall proper function of mechanical equipment including engines, natural gas compressors, and pumps. The role offers a career progression path with opportunities for advancement based on performance and access to ongoing training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform top-end and major maintenance on engines and related components based on manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inspect vehicle work, spill prevention, fire, transformers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine startup/shutdown of field equipment such as pumps and compressors.
  • Complete applicable work/hot work permits and lockout/tagout documentation.
  • Create and complete work orders in Maximo.
  • Order parts and manage inventory for work completion.
  • Learn and understand Targa’s Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Focus on optimization of the stations and units.
  • Plan and perform all assignments safely using proper tools and precautions.
  • Collaborate with other departments for construction support.
  • Assist with training new technicians and handle environmental compliance tasks.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and perform general maintenance.
  • Utilize the TRUCE app for safe mobile device usage.
  • Field callouts alarms as needed.
  • Be proficient in the use of precision tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Natural Gas Characteristics and Engine Operations.
  • Ability to work a 5/2 Monday - Friday or a 7/7 rotation schedule.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams and vendors.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Ability to work in close quarters.
