Overview
The Vehicle Maintenance Technician performs repair and preventative maintenance on various vehicles and equipment, including diesel and gasoline engines, brake systems, and hydraulic systems. The role requires the use of standard automotive tools and diagnostic equipment, and involves both classroom and on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines and various vehicle components.
- Conducts preventive maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Supervises and trains other garage personnel as applicable.
- Maintains reports and records as necessary.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- Assumes responsibility for proper use and care of garage tools.
- May be required to work day, evening or night tours, overtime and weekends as required.
- May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.
Requirements
- Must have ASE certification as required by management.
- Must have five or more years of experience as a mechanic or in a closely related field.
- Requires frequent lifting of 15 to 120 pounds.
- Requires frequent reaching/moving of heavy objects.
- Requires frequent stooping and crawling in confined areas.
- Requires prolonged standing.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license for the state in which employed.
