Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees. They are seeking a Journeyman Pipe Fitter with 4-6 years of maintenance experience for a position in No Trees, TX, focusing on piping systems and industrial processing.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems.
• Select and inspect proper safety gear for work tasks.
• Inspect worksites for obstructions and structural weaknesses.
• Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe as needed.
• Assemble and install various metal and nonmetal pipe fittings.
• Join pipe using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
• Secure pipe to structures with clamps, brackets, supports, and hangers.
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Test piping systems for leaks.
• Utilize various power tools for pipe preparation.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four to six years of experience in pipe fitting.
• Basic knowledge of field drawings and engineering drawings.
• Ability to connect flanged pipe connections using cross pattern bolting.
• Proficient in using a tape measure and framing square.
• Knowledge of power tools for cutting, welding, threading, and bolting.
• Ability to make accurate and precise weld connection fit ups.
• Pass a written pre-employment qualification test.
• Undergo post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
• Meet job site safety requirements as specified by the client.
