Overview

Turner Industries is a diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees. They are seeking a Journeyman Pipe Fitter with 4-6 years of maintenance experience for a position at OxyStratos in No Trees, TX.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems.
• Select and inspect proper safety gear for work tasks.
• Inspect worksites for obstructions and structural integrity.
• Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe as needed.
• Assemble and install various metal and nonmetal pipe fittings.
• Join pipe using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
• Secure pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, supports, and hangers.
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Test piping systems for leaks.
• Utilize a variety of power tools for pipe preparation.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four to six years of experience in pipe fitting.
• Basic knowledge of field drawings and engineering drawings.
• Ability to connect flanged pipe connections using a cross pattern bolting technique.
• Proficient in reading and utilizing a tape measure.
• Ability to understand and utilize a framing square.
• Knowledge of proper power tool usage for cutting, welding, threading, and bolting.
• Ability to make accurate and precise weld connection fit ups.
• Pass a written pre-employment qualification test.
• Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Meet job site safety requirements as required by the client.

Additional Information

• No per diem available, ideal for local candidates.
• 40 hours plus, must be available for overtime and callouts.
• Schedule subject to change.
