Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of industry related codes and standards
  • Proficient knowledge in all phases of pipeline welding including Branch Connections, Sleeves, Hot Taps, Fabrication, In-Service, etc.
  • Selects materials, fittings and the type of welding rod to be used
  • Ability to witness welding of all process piping, gas gathering, gas transmission, hazardous liquid, and other types of pressurized piping
  • Capable of administering, reviewing, and validating welder qualifications
  • Ability to obtain CWI certifications
  • Ability to obtain, review, and close-out project documentation
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule
  • Basic map reading and GPS skills
  • Ability to read and utilize drawings, schematics, alignment sheets and P&ID drawings
  • Ability to create weld maps and as-builts
  • Knowledgeable with NDE Methods (UT, MT, and RT)
  • Knowledgeable with pipeline coatings and their applications
  • Knowledgeable with hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
  • Manage all activities with a focus on safety and compliance
  • Perform operation and maintenance activities on natural gas pipelines
  • Obtain other OQ tasks as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Level C requires a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
