Responsibilities
- Read basic shop sketches, drawings and blueprints.
- Interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Layout and fit up components per drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.
- Pipe fit-up and fabrication of simple and complex systems.
- Weld with all sizes of wire and electrodes.
- Set up and operate electric and engine-driven welding equipment.
- Operate oxygen acetylene cutting equipment.
- Operate hand-held plasma-cutting equipment.
- Operate rigging equipment and perform simple to complex rigging operations small and large.
- Identify different filler materials and uses.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of fabrication skills with structural and pipe shapes.
- MSHA certification is a plus.
- Stick, MIG and TIG welding experience.
- 6G qualifications preferred and must be proficient in acquiring D1.1 certification upon hire.
- Experience with overhead cranes operation is a plus.
- Experience with the use of mobile cranes and crane signaling is a plus.
- Ability to work in environments with extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, and loud noise.
- Considerable physical activity, requiring heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a repair shop environment.
