Responsibilities

• Read basic shop sketches, drawings and blueprints.
• Interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints accurately.
• Layout and fit up components per drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.
• Pipe fit-up and fabrication of simple and complex systems.
• Weld with all sizes of wire and electrodes.
• Set up and operate electric and engine-driven welding equipment.
• Operate oxygen acetylene cutting equipment.
• Operate hand-held plasma-cutting equipment.
• Operate rigging equipment and perform simple to complex rigging operations small and large.
• Identify different filler materials and uses.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of fabrication skills with structural and pipe shapes.
• MSHA certification is a plus.
• Stick, MIG and TIG welding experience.
• 6G qualifications preferred and must be proficient in acquiring D1.1 certification upon hire.
• Experience with overhead cranes operation is a plus.
• Experience with the use of mobile cranes and crane signaling is a plus.
• Ability to work in environments with extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, and loud noise.
• Considerable physical activity, requiring heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a repair shop environment.
