Overview

The Adjunct Welding Professor at Midlands Technical College is responsible for maintaining high teaching standards, preparing instructional materials, and effectively communicating with students. The role requires a strong background in Welding Technology and practical experience in various welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and interact effectively with students enrolled in courses.
  • Prepare materials needed for course instruction and testing.
  • Keep student records and adhere to course schedules.
  • Use learning management systems to communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Participate in the collection of student learning outcomes.
  • Assist the Welding Technology program coordinator with supply and equipment notifications.
  • Conduct lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities.
  • Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
  • Provide students with course syllabi and correlate grade assignments with competencies.
  • Submit grades, reports, and records in a timely manner.
  • Remain current in the field of Welding Technology.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Welding Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of related construction experience.
  • Broad knowledge of the Welding industry.
  • Specific knowledge in teaching welding and welding techniques.
  • Experience in GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW welding, Welding Stainless Steel, Welding Aluminum, and Welding Fabrication.
