Overview
The Adjunct Welding Professor at Midlands Technical College is responsible for maintaining excellence in teaching, preparing instructional materials, and engaging effectively with students. The role requires a strong knowledge of the welding industry and practical experience in various welding techniques.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of excellence in teaching.
- Prepare materials needed for course instruction and testing.
- Keep student records and adhere to course schedules.
- Use learning management systems to communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in the collection of student learning outcomes.
- Assist the Welding Technology program coordinator with supplies or equipment needs.
- Conduct lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities.
- Relate instruction and material to course objectives.
- Provide students with course syllabi and correlate grade assignments with skill and course competency.
- Submit grades, reports, and records in a timely manner.
- Remain current in the field.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Welding Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of related construction experience.
- Broad knowledge of the welding industry.
- Specific knowledge in GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW welding, welding stainless steel, welding aluminum, and welding fabrication.

Additional Information
- Position located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.
- Adjunct faculty compensated at $65 per contact hour.
