Overview
The Injection Molding Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing injection molding equipment and related auxiliary systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. This position performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues, and works closely with production and maintenance leadership to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and technical documents.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and findings in the company’s maintenance management system.
- Identify opportunities for equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance improvements.
- Partner with production and department leadership to maximize machine uptime and operational effectiveness.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an injection molding environment required.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
- Basic computer skills required; CMMS experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
