Overview
A growing custom manufacturing company is seeking a Pipe Welder / Fabricator to support the fabrication and assembly of process piping systems, skid-mounted equipment, and industrial mechanical systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on custom projects serving a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and structural components.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble piping systems and mechanical assemblies from engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, and weld symbols.
- Measure, cut, fit, and prepare materials for fabrication using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate oxy-fuel cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances using tape measures and precision measuring tools.
- Install and assemble piping components, valves, supports, fasteners, and related hardware.
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and fellow team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Assist with shop fabrication, assembly, and production activities as needed.
Requirements
- Proficient in blueprint reading and accurate tape measure usage.
- Experience with MIG welding and oxy-fuel cutting.
- Familiarity with ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 piping codes.
- Knowledge of common fasteners, hardware, and mechanical assembly practices.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, and fabrication equipment.
- Pipe welding experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
