Overview
The Pipefitter General Foreman is responsible for leading and managing crew members' daily activities and production in accordance with project timelines, plans, specifications, and safety standards. This role requires effective supervision of crew members and collaboration with other crafts while ensuring compliance with safety rules and maintaining quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and organize people, equipment, tools and materials for safe and efficient construction.
- Ensure construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
- Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets and daily management reports.
- Assist in developing a weekly schedule and sequence of activities for the assigned crew.
- Ensure timely completion of work assignments within estimated costs while maintaining quality.
- Conduct operations according to applicable safety rules and ensure crew safety.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules.
- Monitor compliance with all Company policies by employees under supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or a related area.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
- Ability to perform task planning for safe and efficient work execution.
- Working knowledge of scheduling, material control, unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost management systems.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions effectively.
- Good communication, motivation, and teamwork skills.
