Overview
The ENGINEER WELDING 3 position at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding involves developing, analyzing, and designing welding techniques and procedures. The company is the largest industrial employer in Virginia and specializes in building and refueling U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines.
Responsibilities
- Develops, analyzes, researches, and designs welding techniques, procedures, and applications.
- Uses engineering principles to manipulate materials for fabrication and assembly processes.
- Prepares technical documentation to implement waterfront welding processes including specifications, analyses, standards, and restrictions.
- Creates new or modifies current welding methods, techniques, and procedures to substantiate welding theories.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience.
- Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
