Overview

Nucor is seeking a Rebar Fabricator Lead for its fabrication shop in Dayton, TX. This role involves supervising shop staff, ensuring safety and efficiency, and maintaining production quality while upholding company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Production Supervisor in the fabrication shop.
  • Ensure safe and efficient workflow by supervising shop staff.
  • Oversee production in accordance with company policy and regulations.
  • Adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor's vision and values.
  • Responsible for processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Supervise all personnel and operations on designated shifts.
  • Oversee daily work assignments and work schedules.
  • Troubleshoot production problems to minimize delays.
  • Oversee maintenance on shop equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform quality inspections of completed work.
  • Assist in the evaluation of employees for appropriate compensation.
  • Perform various jobs such as operation of sheer, bender, crane, and forklift.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • High school diploma, GED or state/local equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 certificate, or ability to acquire it within first 90 days.
  • At least five years’ experience in a rebar shop or manufacturing setting.

Additional Information

  • Extended hours may be required during peak production.
