Responsibilities

• Weld pipe in accordance with customer needs and specifications
• Measure, cut, and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle/length using pipe cutters and benders
• Perform copper brazing and soldering
• Thread and assemble pipe
• Prepare, fabricate, fit, weld, and install pipe to specifications
• Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges in piping systems according to plans and specifications
• Repair leaks in all types of pipe systems
• Assemble, install, and repair piping systems according to specifications and building codes
• Setup, adjust, and operate welding equipment

Requirements

• Able to position weld in field and shop atmosphere
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial pipe welding
• Experience with carbon steel stick 6G welding
• Experience with carbon steel TIG 6G welding
• Experience with stainless steel TIG 6G welding
• Assist in selecting pipe sizes, types, or related materials according to specifications
• Cut or bore holes in structures prior to pipe installation using hand or power tools
• Assist with the installation of piping systems
• Basic brazing and soldering experience
• Ability to assist with job layout
• Working knowledge of all types of piping systems
• Ability to read and interpret a written scope of work
• Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools
• Identify basic trade materials by size, shape, and function
• Safely use power tools and hand tools
