Overview

Join Road & Rail Services as a Traveling Railcar Repairman/Carman and help keep rail equipment operating safely and efficiently. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals with railcar repair experience, strong mechanical skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting railcars for damage, wear, and serviceability
• Performing repairs and documenting inspections and completed work
• Identifying repair needs beyond company capabilities
• Lubricating components and applying required stenciling
• Assisting with railcar cleaning and preparation
• Operating company vehicles and equipment, including pickups, ATVs, tractors, and service vehicles
• Maintaining a clean work area and following all safety procedures

Requirements

• Railcar repair or rail industry experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Welding experience required (4G, 5G, and Stick Welding)
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks
• Valid driver's license required
