Overview

As an Upfit Technician I, you will perform various activities related to truck body and trailers, including diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic issues, disassembling and reassembling truck bodies, and ensuring safety and compliance with guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Wabash Nationals WPO guidelines and attain required certifications.
• Work in a team environment.
• Perform repairs and procedures safely and in a timely manner.
• Read the work order completely before beginning an assignment.
• Check the VIN on the vehicle to ensure correct components for the job.
• Operate pneumatic and battery-powered cordless tools.
• Read basic drawings and prints.
• Operate lifting devices such as forklifts and stackers.
• Apply adhesives and mechanical fasteners.
• Operate sanders and apply light-duty paint material.
• Operate saws and drill press equipment.
• Record part numbers on work orders.
• Have a basic understanding of 12v or automotive electrical systems.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Intermediate mechanical skills/knowledge and welding experience preferred.
• Must have a current driver's license.
• Experience in truck body or equipment manufacturing repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work off scaffolding up to ten to twelve feet.
