Overview

Austin Industrial is an industry leader providing maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The General Laborer will perform various labor-intensive tasks in an industrial setting under supervision, including operating tools, maintaining job sites, and assisting craft workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting 25+ lbs., bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in heat.
• Shovel bituminous concrete or other materials into construction areas.
• Assist in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix.
• Excavate and fill trenches and ditches.
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and securing the site daily.
• Handle and store materials.
• Load and unload trucks and haul materials.
• Follow safety and incident reporting procedures.
• Communicate problems to the Foreman or Safety personnel.
• Use equipment, materials, and supplies properly in an industrial setting.
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Meet attendance schedule with dependability.

Requirements

• No minimum education requirements.
• A valid state ID or Driver’s License is required.
• 12+ months of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous physical labor.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
