Overview
H and G Systems is seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Foreman to lead complex commercial and industrial mechanical projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical piping installations on commercial and industrial construction and retrofit projects
- Coordinate daily field operations, manpower, materials, equipment, and project activities
- Perform advanced pipe welding, fabrication, fitting, and installation work as needed
- Oversee chilled water systems, heating water systems, pumps, chillers, and specialty mechanical equipment installations
- Support retrofit projects, plant shutdowns, equipment replacements, and system upgrades
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping schematics, specifications, and project documents
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, schedules, and safety requirements
- Mentor apprentices and support workforce development efforts
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure successful project execution
- Assist with crane coordination, equipment setting, and specialty mechanical installations
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate project status to leadership
Requirements
- Strong commercial or industrial HVAC piping experience required
- Advanced welding experience using 6010 and 6011 electrodes in multiple positions
- Experience with 7018 welding applications
- TIG welding experience on stainless steel piping
- Experience with copper soldering from 1/4-inch through 3-inch piping systems
- Proficiency with grooved, threaded, ProPress, and MegaPress piping systems
- Experience installing and retrofitting chillers, pumps, and mechanical equipment
- Strong knowledge of chilled water and heating water systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Experience leading apprentices, helpers, or small crews
- Strong field coordination, leadership, and jobsite management skills
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to safety and quality workmanship
