Job Description

Overview

Our client is looking for a senior Structural Technician with industry knowledge in either aviation, aerospace, defence or automotive. Since the client is entering the prototype stage, experience in this phase would also be ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit, and install structural airframe components including fuselage, wing, empennage, and VTOL-specific structures.
  • Perform structural integration of sub-assemblies, mechanical systems, and flight-critical hardware.
  • Interpret and work from preliminary engineering drawings, 3D models, and verbal direction — adapting as designs evolve.
  • Drill, ream, countersink, and fasten using aerospace-standard tooling and techniques (riveting, Hi-Lok, blind fasteners, bonding).
  • Fabricate and form sheet metal and composite structural components as required.
  • Identify and communicate fit/interference issues to engineering, contributing to design solutions.
  • Perform structural rework, repair, and modification during iterative prototype development cycles.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Structural Technician, Structures Mechanic, or Aircraft Assembly Technician.
  • Hands-on experience in aerospace, aviation, or defence manufacturing or MRO environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in prototype, developmental, or first-article builds.
  • Proficiency in structural assembly techniques: drilling, riveting, fastener installation, shimming, sealing, and torquing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
  • A&P certification would be beneficial but not essential.

Additional Information

  • W2 employment.
  • 6x10 schedule.
  • Competitive hourly rate.
