Overview
Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking an Operator I for the Crum/Ridley Creek Treatment Plants. This role involves ensuring reliable water and wastewater services while adhering to safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform labor-intensive work, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Obtain and maintain a Waterworks Operators Class A license within three years.
- Follow all safety requirements related to hazardous chemical handling and PPE.
- Repair and replace plant equipment, including pumps and chemical feed equipment.
- Make mathematical calculations for chemical dosing based on flow rates.
- Be available for overtime to maintain continuous plant operations.
- Participate as a member of the Hazmat Response Team if required.
Requirements
- Must have an associate degree or two years of trade school education, or two years of experience in the waterworks field.
- Must have a valid US driver's license and obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Hazardous Material Endorsement.
- Good mechanical skills for equipment repair and replacement.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for chemical dosing.
- Must pass a written examination and field test as part of the hiring process.

- Employees hired after December 15, 2022, will receive a reduced hourly rate for the first four years.
