Overview
Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia, specializing in consulting, engineering, procurement, and construction. The Structural Welder is responsible for welding and assembling structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, and pressure vessels.
Responsibilities
- Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
- May use various welding processes including Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc or Shielded Metal Arc.
- Bolts, clamps, and welds together metal components using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
- May manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal and clean or degrease weld joints.
- May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
- May remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag, and spatter using various tools.
- May preheat work pieces using a hand torch or heating furnace.
- May cut metal plates or structural shapes.
- Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

Requirements
- Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
