Overview

The CSU Pipefitter Journeyman RGLNG position involves planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing various piping systems in compliance with industry standards. The role requires skilled experience in a power plant or industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of various types of pipe and pipe systems.
  • Read isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate and install piping efficiently.
  • Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products for welding.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
  • Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation.
  • Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
  • Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, and pipe threaders.
  • Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
  • Hydro test piping systems.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience as a CSU Pipefitter Journeyman in a Power Plant / Industrial setting.
  • Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check.

Additional Information

  • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas.
