Job Description

Overview

The Welder is responsible for timely and efficient welding and fabricating of material at jobsites and/or facility, aiming to safely and productively meet customer needs. This position offers a starting pay of $19.50/hr plus a shift differential, with opportunities for overtime and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required.
  • Communicate issues with fixtures, customer prints, material issues, welding equipment, and supporting tools.
  • Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices.
  • Establish priorities for efficiently staging, processing, and packaging materials.
  • Accept responsibility for all aspects of the work produced.
  • Inspect and verify all aspects of the material when receiving, producing, or packaging.
  • Scrutinize customer requirements and special instructions to ensure compliance.
  • Confirm materials and parts are produced to print.
  • Ensure inventory is accurate.
  • Ensure audit and material traceability procedures are being followed.

Requirements

  • Understanding of SPS policies and procedures.
  • Basic shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
  • Proven ability to read and understand prints, documents, and/or drawings.
  • Proven experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment.

Additional Information

  • Starting pay of $19.50/hr plus $2.50/hr shift differential.
  • Work schedule is 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Moderately stressful and constantly changing work environment.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of material up to 51lbs.
