Overview
Kelso Industries, with over 3,500 employees across 30 companies, is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join Feldkamp Mechanical. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of boiler piping and related equipment, contributing to various industrial and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform pipefitting tasks according to specifications and safety guidelines.
- Cut, shape, and fit pipes to appropriate measurements.
- Assemble and install pipes, valves, and fixtures.
- Inspect and test installed systems for functionality and quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with piping systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion.
- Maintain documentation of work performed and materials used.
- Inspect the workplace, clear obstructions, and prepare materials and equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of hazard prevention and safety best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience as a pipefitter in the HVAC industry preferred.
- Knowledge of pipefitting principles and ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
- Able to lift 50 pounds; frequently lift and carry 25 pounds; work on ladders, staging or other related equipment; and work in confined spaces.
- Must use proper LO/TO procedures and wear PPE at all times.
- OHSA 10 Cert.
Additional Information
- Some job duties are performed within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances.
- When at a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees.
