Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Pipefitter will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.
  • Attach pipes to walls and structures using brackets and clamps.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
  • Plan pipe system layout and installation according to specifications.
  • Select pipe sizes and types according to specifications.
  • Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
  • Install automatic controls to regulate pipe systems.
  • Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids.
  • Remove and replace worn components.
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
  • Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
  • Dip nonferrous piping materials in a mixture to prevent erosion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirements.
  • 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
  • NCCER Certification preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and TWIC Card.
