Overview
Boeing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Boeing Operations Center 777-X team in Seal Beach, CA. This role involves supporting all in-service Boeing commercial airplane models and offers opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develops structural repairs on all Boeing and MD series models
- Develops static and fatigue analyses for primary and secondary structures
- Collaborates with customers via verbal and written communications
- Communicates with Boeing and customer executive leadership
- Performs review of customer requests and determine the best avenue for resolution
- Provides repair solutions and approval forms to customers
- Collaborates with multiple Boeing teams to develop repair solutions
- Reviews outgoing customer messages to ensure content and quality
- Initiates proactive repair solutions across the Boeing fleet
- Analyzes and develops substantiation packages for repairs and/or fly-on limits
- Researches technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer
- Assesses incoming customer communications to resolve potential fleet safety issues
- Helps customers keep their aircraft flying safely by addressing urgent 'Aircraft On Ground' (AOG) issues
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- 9+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (preferred)
- 3+ years experience working with composite and/or metallic structures (preferred)
- 3+ years of aircraft design and/or repair experience (preferred)
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and writing (preferred)
- Experience with Boeing aircraft data (preferred)
- Experience with CSW, IAS, and other BCA tools (preferred)
- Experience working with and supporting customers (e.g. Airlines, Operators, Lessors) (preferred)
- Prior experience with AOG resolution (preferred)
- Leading structural analysis teams (preferred)
- Damage Tolerance analysis (preferred)
