Overview

Assembler I is an entry-level position at Arktura LLC, a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, located in Carson, California. The role involves assembling high-quality architectural systems under the guidance of senior associates and supervisors, contributing to a supportive company culture that values collaboration and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Perform transactions in Shop-Trak, providing updates on projects, material moves, and scrap.
• Collect parts and supplies for assembly and packing processes.
• Conduct inventory of tools, parts, and supplies and resupply as needed.
• Use various hand tools for assembly and packing operations efficiently and safely.
• Identify product defects and report nonconformances to senior associates and supervisors.
• Perform reworks and repairs according to industry best practices.
• Coordinate movement of assembled parts and products to the next operation.
• Prepare, assemble, package, and label completed projects for shipping.
• Unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies.
• Complete work to meet production and schedule requirements.
• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Maintain equipment and work areas, cleaning and performing basic repairs as needed.

Requirements

• Possess basic arithmetic skills.
• Possess knowledge of personal computer skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear required PPE.
• Ability to work off shift hours as needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Cal OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
• OSHA Forklift Certification is a plus.
• CPR & First Aid Certification is a plus.
