Overview
Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior/Lead Structural Engineer to join their Power team, offering the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the US. The company is a leader in engineering and consulting, focused on solving complex challenges and driving positive change globally.
Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers in the Power sector.
- Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients.
- Commit to and maintain project timelines.
- Document and track project tasks and related design documents.
- Prepare and/or verify design drawings and calculations.
- Prepare and/or verify procurement activities and deliverables.
- Prepare purchase requisition and review technical content of supplier bids.
- Perform required inspections for procurement of material.
- Monitor project schedule and budgets and report status regularly.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in structural engineering, specifically in structural steel and foundation design for high voltage substations and transmission lines.
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in California.
- Experience with transmission station structures and overhead transmission lines with operating voltages not less than 115 kV.
- Previous experience in the design of heavy industrial structures, preferably in the power industry.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, MathCAD, and Structural Analysis Software.
- Experience in business development and civil design is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, report writing, organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and with others on multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
