Overview

Worthington Enterprises - Elgen is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Set-Up/Operator for its Tool & Die machine shop. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining equipment, while contributing to a dynamic and inclusive workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Develop machining programs using Fusion 360 from SolidWorks-generated 3D models.
  • Perform machine setup and operation on Haas machining centers.
  • Select tooling and machining parameters.
  • Inspect finished parts to engineering specifications.
  • Support manual machining and tool room activities.
  • Maintain accurate process, tooling, and inspection documentation.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience creating, editing, and running G-code programs with Autodesk's Fusion 360.
  • Ability to program from detailed 3D models created in SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of G and M codes for program editing.
  • Understanding of speeds, feeds, and rates for machining various tool steel grades.
  • Experience setting up Haas VF2 SS vertical machining center.
  • Familiarity with Haas 'Next-Gen' controller and WIPS system.
  • Knowledge of fixturing/work-holding techniques.
  • Good inspection skills using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of heat treating of tool steels is a plus.
  • Experience with manual and automatic surface grinders is a plus.
  • Good manual machining skills for knee mill and lathe.
