Overview

Elevate your career at Marotta Controls, a New Jersey Top Workplace three years running! This position is primarily responsible for the set-up and operation of various types of machine shop equipment to produce complex tools, fixtures, and diversified products in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture production and tooling parts using a variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Set-up and operate machine shop equipment effectively and safely.
• Perform component and material inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Interpret graphs and data for problem solving and monitoring performance metrics.
• Coordinate and document machine shop activities through effective interaction with other departments.
• Generate work instructions, set up sheets, and programs for machining activities.
• Read and interpret documents to produce conforming products on time.
• Train and mentor others in machining processes.
• Communicate issues and recommendations to appropriate personnel.
• Perform troubleshooting activities and provide improvement recommendations.
• Define and perform routine maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in set-up and operation of precision machine shop equipment.
• High School/GED Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalent.
• Self-motivated with the ability to analyze, organize, plan, and multi-task.
• Possess math skills to read and interpret technical documents.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to set-up and operate machine shop equipment safely and consistently.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and inspection methods.
• Demonstrate creative thinking related to machine shop and inspection.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Additional Information

• This is a full-time position with potential overtime and weekend work.
