Overview

NV5 is a provider of engineering and consulting services to public and private sector clients, delivering solutions through various business verticals. They are looking for passionate individuals to join their team as Special Inspectors, who will conduct field observation and testing services during construction phases of projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field observation and perform testing and measurements during construction.
• Ensure work conforms to approved design drawings and specifications.
• Furnish inspection reports to project manager and other designated persons.
• Notify contractor and project manager of problems and deviations from plans.
• Perform field testing of soil, concrete, masonry, asphalt, fireproofing, and structural steel.
• Communicate effectively with project personnel to manage the project.
• Make decisions using sound professional judgment with minimal supervision.
• Handle and transport concrete samples, soil samples, and other lab materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with ASTM and AASHTO testing procedures.
• Ability to follow direction and learn repetitive tasks.
• Driver's License and insurable driving record.
• Preferred certifications include Nuclear Gauge Cert, ACI, ICC, NJ DCA.
