The Laborer position involves providing support for skilled crafts in underground and above ground piping projects, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and assistance to skilled crafts on the project.
- Install, repair, and maintain water, sewer, gas, and electrical piping.
- Lay pipe sections, dig and backfill trenches, and seal joints using hand or power tools.
- Prepare areas for concrete placement through excavation and grading.
- Assist in the assembly and stripping of concrete forms.
- Handle concrete buckets and muck concrete for even distribution.
- Support block masons by transporting materials and stocking blocks.
- Assist carpenters in handling and setting door frames.
- Load, unload, and distribute building materials according to project plans.
- Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to follow safe work practices.
- Initiative and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with co-workers and stakeholders.
- Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Must provide own safety footwear.
