Responsibilities
- Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties.
- Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested.
- Take direction from higher skilled workers or foreman.
- Utilize effective math skills to perform calculations.
- Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, and unnecessary transport.
- Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about work or safety practices.
- Learn and understand safety hazards related to the work.
- Safely and effectively use work-related tools and equipment.
- Look for opportunities for improvement in tasks and methods.
- Maintain positive working relationships with crew members.
- Produce high quality work safely and productively.
- Provide feedback to ensure availability of materials and tools.
Requirements
- NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year experience (level I), two years' experience (level II), and three plus years' experience in industrial/commercial construction preferred.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
