Overview

The Quality Control Technician ensures the quality and integrity of all parts and assemblies for products released for manufacturing, maintaining internal quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Interpret prints and other manufacturing/engineering documentation related to manufacturing processes.
- Inspect and identify welded parts for spatter, pinholes, and undercut.
- Inspect and identify coated products for film thickness, adhesion, cure, and materials used.
- Identify defects of coated parts and document nonconformances.
- Document acceptance or rejection of product features based on prints.
- Return products with quality issues to the responsible party and document nonconformance.
- Conduct internal audits of individual processes to verify conformance with quality standards.
- Read and manipulate various metrology devices for measurements.
- Ensure operator and/or fabricator tools are inspected for calibration.
- Calibrate basic measuring devices.
- Perform and document incoming inspections using sample rates.
- Conduct all duties in a safe and effective manner.
- Ensure process owners complete and sign off on required documentation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1+ year of professional welding experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read a print and interpret it to a physical part.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
- Ability to read metrology tools.
- Experience in a quality control role.
- Advanced blueprint reading skills.
- Working knowledge of AISC and AWS D1.1 code requirements for welding, inspection, and testing preferred.
- CWI/CAWI preferred.
