Overview
Rhoads Industries, a family-owned company since 1896, is seeking a Welding Instructor to join their growing team. The role involves coordinating operational training and certifications for welding, contributing to the development of skilled tradespeople in a dynamic industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of operational training.
- Support all quality testing, certifications, and re-certifications of technical employees.
- Arrange and manage all material, set-ups, and equipment for testing and QA requirements.
- Support technical requirements and certifications for onboarding new employees.
- Assist in recruitment and outreach of potential employees and coordinate evaluations.
- Work with HR to ensure onboarding of all new relevant technical hires is complete.
- Participate in daily training activities of pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.
- Familiarize new apprentices with operational processes and procedures.
- Collect apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship OJT training documents and assure filing with state agency.
- Support work assignments with operations and create a staffing pool for pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.
- Coordinate with Quality/Safety and maintain accurate records of certifications.
- Assess training needs for new and existing technical employees.
- Track and report on training outcomes.
- Provide feedback to program participants and management.
- Make recommendations on training material and methodology.
- Work an 8-hour per day, 5 days a week schedule from 6am to 2:30pm.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-Secondary college/vocational in welding preferred.
- CWE Minimal CWI Preferred.
- Evidence of past welding qualifications in various welding processes required.
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in the welding/manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Welding Instructor or leading a team in an industrial environment.
- Thorough familiarity with AWS, ASME, and MIL welding codes and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Excel.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass all background clearances.

Additional Information
- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
- May require walking and standing on irregular and uneven surfaces in an industrial setting.
- Exposure to construction or industrial areas where personal protective equipment is required.
