Overview
Bowman has an opportunity for an Engineer III, Ports & Harbors to join our team in various locations across the United States. The role involves leading the analysis, design, and inspection of waterfront and heavy industrial engineering projects, contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform work under very limited supervision requiring independent judgement.
- Serve as a lead/resource among colleagues to share technical proficiency and mentorship.
- Assist with marketing the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques on complex projects.
- Lead planning, design, permitting, and construction support for structural projects.
- Complete engineering design and drawing work using computer-aided software.
- Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project direction.
- Direct and perform field structural investigations and develop technical reports.
- Conduct feasibility studies, structural inspections, and detailed design work.
- Perform frequent site visits to monitor construction and lead inspections.
- Review drawings and technical submittals for office construction support.
- Attend meetings with clients and contractors to ensure project completion.
- Review plans and prepare technical specifications and contract documents.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest technical developments in structural engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related field required.
- Master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in marine infrastructure.
- E.I.T. registration preferred.
- Professional registration preferred.
- Working knowledge of engineering design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, STAAD, or Revit.
- Familiarity with ASCE, AISC, ACI, AWS, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Working knowledge of construction plans.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Valid state driver's license or reliable transportation preferred.
