Triple-S Steel is a company with over 50 years of experience, emphasizing stability, flexibility, and chemistry in its operations. The Welder position involves welding, cutting, and brazing metal pieces using various equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plans details of work order procedures and gathers required tools and materials.
• Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
• Obeys all safety rules.
• Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
• Notifies supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
• Operates cranes to pull and move material.
• Identifies materials for proper size grade and heat numbers.
• Measures material to be cut or welded.
• Communicates any issues within the department to management.
• Participates in general clean-up of the warehouse and work area.
• Participates in continuous improvement and monthly safety meetings.
• Completes paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prefer High School Diploma or equivalent, but not necessary.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship.
• On-site testing and training program required.
• Minimum 3 years experience.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding.
• Basic understanding of design techniques and tools for technical plans.
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments.
• Basic understanding of mathematics related to welding assignments.
