Overview
UE Manufacturing is hiring a Welder for 1st Shift in Oklahoma City, OK. The Shipyard Welder will perform structural and pipe welding assignments while maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for welding by grinding barge and boat repair and fabrication areas.
- Complete necessary passes to produce full penetration welds on specialty components and areas.
- Use various tools to operate welding and grinding equipment and complete tasks.
- Weld steel plate/pipe to make required repairs, fabrication, and modifications.
- Safely and efficiently use various hand, power, and cutting tools.
- Consult with foreman or supervisor regarding installation or repair problems.
- Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
- May tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Equivalent combination of experience and training that provides required knowledge, abilities, and skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate clearly; bilingual preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a shipyard environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in safety equipment usage and able to qualify use of safety equipment.
- High performance and a strong team player.
