Overview

UE Manufacturing is hiring a Welder for 1st Shift in Oklahoma City, OK. The Shipyard Welder will perform structural and pipe welding assignments while maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for welding by grinding barge and boat repair and fabrication areas.
• Complete necessary passes to produce full penetration welds on specialty components and areas.
• Use various tools to operate welding and grinding equipment and complete tasks.
• Weld steel plate/pipe to make required repairs, fabrication, and modifications.
• Safely and efficiently use various hand, power, and cutting tools.
• Consult with foreman or supervisor regarding installation or repair problems.
• Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
• May tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Equivalent combination of experience and training that provides required knowledge, abilities, and skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate clearly; bilingual preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a shipyard environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in safety equipment usage and able to qualify use of safety equipment.
• High performance and a strong team player.
• Commitment to company values and safety program.

• Work in harsh environments such as heat, cold, rain, and ice.
• Able to work inside confined spaces and at heights.
• Requires long periods of sitting in awkward positions and climbing.
