Job Description
Overview
This position is located in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NA V ARCS) in Prescott, AZ. The primary purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to perform journeyman Pipefitter and Plumber work.
Responsibilities
- Perform alterations, construction, repairs, and modification of high temperature water and high-pressure piping systems.
- Work on hydraulic, nitrogen, oxygen, steam-heating, and steam-generating systems.
- Handle utility, supply, and disposal systems, fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
- Manage sewage, water, gas, and oil lines, compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems.
- Install and maintain water closets, water heaters, hydrants, valves, and pumps.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Good coordination and good physical condition.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work in uncomfortable positions.
- Capability to pull, reach over, and lift supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Must work from ladders, scaffolds, platforms, and in hard to reach places.
